Director, Data Services
Ashley Edwards is the Director, of Data Services at Opportunity@Work. In this role, she uses data to identify, understand, and advocate for individuals who are Skilled Through Alternative Routes (STARs).
Ashley has extensive experience working with data to measure economic well-being and mobility, previously serving as the Chief of the Poverty Statistics Branch at the U.S. Census Bureau. Her research has primarily focused on the measurement of poverty transitions over time, the development of alternative poverty measures, and the impact of data collection and processing changes on measures of poverty status.
In her role at Opportunity@Work, Ashley applies her experience in data collection and analysis to deliver actionable insights on the characteristics of the labor market—identifying barriers to employment and advancement that constrain economic productivity and personal opportunity.
Originally from North Carolina, Ashley lives with her wife in Southwest DC, where she can often be found exploring the city by bike or rowing on the Anacostia River.
