Kate works alongside Byron Auguste to amplify the impact of the Office of the CEO, driving strategy to ensure our focus is on Opportunity@Work’s mission.
Kate comes to Opportunity@Work from Poverty Solutions at the University of Michigan, a research-, data-, and action-based U-M wide initiative. In that role, Kate incubated a wide range of strategic projects as one of the first employees, including two large-scale, grant-funded projects, Understanding Communities of Deep Disadvantage and The Midwest Mobility from Poverty Network. Prior to Poverty Solutions, Kate was a schools manager for EverFi in the Midwest and served two years in middle schools with City Year. She’s also worked as a consultant on gender in the workplace and as a fellow with Year Up’s National Program Team on its workforce development curriculum.
Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, she’s called places from Sacramento to Boston home in the last decade before settling in the U-Street neighborhood of DC with her husband. Outside of work, Kate is reputed to enjoy ambitious cooking projects and challenging yoga classes.
